Best Bit: “God loves his children / God loves his children /Yeah …” *cue main riff*
Best Bit: I don’t often have reason to say this – but the best bit is the key change.
Best Bit: The launch into the final verse when the whole song steps up a notch and suddenly sounds a whole lot darker.
Best Bit: The wailing duel guitars of the crescendo to the main solo.
Note: Only the patient need apply. Or actually, just go away and come back when you’re feeling more patient. It is 26 minutes long, and is arguably 1 song, 2 songs or 9 of them put together.
Best Bit: The instrumental bridge.
Best Bit: The opening shout of “I backed my car into a cop car, the other day ..”
Best Bit: It’s all about the lyrics (which have exactly nothing to do with the video). I’d go with the heartbreaking, “What if I was not your only friend in this world? Would you take me where you’re going if you’re never coming back?”
Best Bit: The crescendo of that second verse .. “I guess we’ll just have to adjuuuuuu-“
Best Bit: Ground Control have lost contact with Major Tom. We cross back to Major Tom, now all alone out in space – “Here am I floating round my tin can …”
I’ve decided to retire this blog in 10 days time (just after its 1st birthday).
To finish with a bang I’ll be counting down my 10 Fave Songs of All Time. Favourite songs lists are probably the most difficult of all to come up with, because there are just so many to choose from and so many of them have meant so much to me at different points in my life, but I will give it a shot … Hope you enjoy!
Oh, and it’d be great to also hear about your own fave songs of all time, so comment away below 🙂
